It’s almost the end of May which means time to round up my finishes and despite the sewing machine hiccup things have gone pretty well.
Here’s what I’ve managed to get done:

Well how excited am I as I’ve been nominated for not one, but two awards…yes, I know I’m quite shocked too. It’s so nice to find out that people are enjoying reading my blog especially as I feel like I’ve really only just started! I can’t quite believe that I’ve managed to keep posting, I really thought I would only last a month, but amazingly I’m still going and that’s mostly due to the other great bloggers out there.
Happy days…my sewing machine has returned!
Supposedly there was nothing wrong with it, but seriously there was and strangely they sent a new lead and foot pedal and now it works fine…hmm I wonder why?!
Nevermind, I don’t care as long as it’s back and not having a fit every 5 seconds.
So this means the Bloom Bloom Pow is back on track.
Last time I wrote about the quilt I had finished the top and that was it. So since then it has been a bit of a stressful task to get the Bloom Bloom on its way to being finished.
Here’s what’s been going on…..
Ok, so this is going to be quick(ish) because:
1. We went for a super long, super steep walk yesterday and it’s taken its toll on me today. Hence I’m writing under a blanket of tiredness……zzzzzzzzzz
2. It’s Sunday and Sunday = rest
3. The real reason…I haven’t done very much!
Anyway over the past week my little fingers have been working hard, but slowly which means I have finished my doodle embroidery….(I think!)

So this week hasn’t been a very good week for my sewing machine as it is unwell and has been sent away to be fixed….very sad. It’s got something wrong with the foot pedal which keeps beeping every other second and stopping me from sewing. This has been highly irritating while trying to complete recent projects as you can imagine. Anyway it got taken away the end of last week and hopefully won’t be gone too long…fingers crossed.
On a more positive note knowing it would be leaving pushed me to finish whatever I could and this meant my Simple Modern Sewing Skirt…finally!
I have so many different things to start and finish this month that my brain is having a hard time trying to remember what they all are!
As always my solution for this was to write a list (how I love lists!) then I thought why not link it to A Lovely Year of Finishes so that’s what I’m doing.
I seem to to have missed the window for this the past couple of months, probably because I wasn’t particularily confident that I would actually get anything done, but happily I’ve managed more than expected up to now so fingers crossed it continues that way.
My plans for May are:
