Quilty Bucket List!

There’s a great blog hop that’s just started.

Yes, you guessed it ‘Quilty Bucket List‘ over at The Tilted Quilt.

I LOVE lists, I am a list kind of person. It’s my way of trying to organise my very unorganised brain! I’m not sure how helpful it actually is as I tend to make a list, look at it once, forget where I’ve put it, things change, I revise list…and so on!!

I’m hoping this will help sort things out.

1. Improv Sampler Quilt

First on the list is an improv sampler…..like this beauty:

Heather Ross Improv Quilt by Heidi Staples of Fabric Mutt

This pic led me to the hop as Heidi of Fabric Mutt is one of the first stops. I just LOVE it!

I’ve done the old City Sampler (no finished photos yet sorry!) so I’m looking for something more relaxed and a bit haphazard (in a good way)!!! Continue reading

City Sampler – Ch… Ch… Ch… Ch… Charcoal!!

Well I finally came to a decision. Thanks for all your suggestions, it’s so helpful to hear what everyone out there thinks…especially if you agree with me..haha!!

I went with my intitial option…yes, you guessed it…charcoal!

I got some other Kona colours through including some Kale and Celestial, but they weren’t quite right and so tired of the brain strain I went with my gut.

Here’s a little sneak peak of the result:

Playing Catch Up – Part 1!!

Finally the sun came out and I got round to taking some pics of my City Sampler blocks.

I’m up to no. 70 now so only 13 or something more to catch up..ha ha! Plus I’ve reached the Squares section and I can see the magic 100 calling to me in the distance, yipee.

I won’t bore you with ALL of them at the mo. Let’s just get halfway so here we go up to 65.

(Just realised I haven’t done 55 – 58 yet, will have to dig them out another time…aaaand somehow I missed 61 too, whoops!)

A Lovely Year of Finishes (and Starts!) – July Goals

I think this month is going to include more starts than finishes. There are lots of things I want to have a go at getting on with especially as the summer holidays are fast approaching which means fewer hours to play (in the crafty sense).

My main finish goal will be, of course, the next lot of City Sampler blocks. I’m happy to say I have caught up and even had my blocks done for the week on Monday..oh yes!

WIP Wednesday – Cutting Finished and One Quick Question

I eventually finished my fabric cutting and after putting them in order, rearranging them, rearranging them again and then cutting some extra fabric to give me a few more options (as if I needed any) I think I have finally settled on a suitable combination. I’m sure I will change my mind again once I’ve finished stitching and know there’s no going back!
