So I just made it this month….I thought I’d get everything done easily, but no. I suppose I’ve had social stuff and extra work stuff all conspiring against me and my quilting. Nevermind, I did it even if is super last minute!
My proudest achievement this month is my finished Bee Strip.
This is the first time I’ve made flying geese and I have to say it wasn’t too bad. This is what they looked like before the strip…

I don’t know why but I haven’t got very far this week, or at least that’s how it feels. I’ve no excuse really only that I’ve had other things to do….oh and there’s been maybe a hint of laziness!
I have managed to finish another three City Sampler blocks though and I think I like them the best of all…plus they are all the perfect size, phew!
I added a bit of yellow to these blocks….I was intending to use a more mustardy yellow, but I couldn’t find enough fabrics in that colour, although in reality it’s probably just that I don’t really do muted colours much. It’s not that I don’t like them, just that colour always calls to me!
At first I wasn’t sure about the yellow, but after making them up I think it works fine and gives a nice little lift to the blocks.
Amazingly I’ve decided to enter something in the mini quilt contest over at Ellison Lane.
Now my entry isn’t great, I’m aware of that, but my choice is limited and this one fits the bill best, so I’m entering this baby:
So I’m counting this as both a finish and WIP which I think is fair…I’ve finished the blocks, it’s just not the whole project…think it’ll be next year before that’s likely!
As I mentioned before one of my goals for the month is to catch up with the City Sampler sew along, so that’s what I’m in the process of doing.

Like I said in my last post I’m starting a few new things this month.
One of the main projects is a quilting bee I’ve joined called Strip Bees hosted by Maria at Sew Love to Sew
I think I’ve been having a bit of a relapse this week after all the excitement of finishing my quilt…. been sooo tired in the evenings. This is probably made worse by my inablilty to go to bed before midnight. I don’t know why but I seem to find it physically impossible to do so!
Anyway because of this I’ve been planning my next projects instead. To help me along I ordered these which arrived yesterday…
Do a happy dance and break out the bubbly because today’s the day I finally finished my Bloom Bloom Pow….yipee!!
