I think I’ve been having a bit of a relapse this week after all the excitement of finishing my quilt…. been sooo tired in the evenings. This is probably made worse by my inablilty to go to bed before midnight. I don’t know why but I seem to find it physically impossible to do so!
Anyway because of this I’ve been planning my next projects instead. To help me along I ordered these which arrived yesterday…
Then I found out that there’s a great sew along going on over at Sew Sweetness for the Tula Pink City Sampler and although I wasn’t planning on making every single block in there, that is what I now intend to do. Is this wise, I’m not sure!
So I’ve wasted spent A LOT (and that’s an understatement for various reasons) of time deciding on fabrics. Initially I had wanted to start a quilt with these colours…
But, after looking in my teeny tiny stash ….no really look…this is it (minus fabric pull)…
I told you!
So yeah, after looking in my stash I realised that basically I own hardly any of those colours…but I do own quite a few of the peachy orange colours, grey, turquoise and blue so I decided on these…
Plus there are a couple of fabric ranges that I really love and want to include. One of which is Glimma encouraged by my recent lovely Lotta binding.
and Indian Summer….
I just hope they work ok together as the style of fabrics is quite different, I’ve been selective, so we’ll see.
Also……now this is planning ahead….. there’s some great Leah Duncan fabric (Tule) coming out later in the year which I would love to include. Isn’t it totally gorgeous?
So this is one of my June goals for A Year of Lovely Finishes which are…
- to catch up and keep up with the Tula Pink sew along
- to create another piece of embroidery
- and to finish my contribution to a new quilting bee (more on this later)
I don’t think that’s too much to ask…now it’s my day off and for once we have some sunshine so I’m off out!
Oh..and must remember to post ATC, that will be winging it’s way to its new home this week, bye bye birdy!
Super impressed your during the QAL with Tula Pink – I might just have to start late 🙂 I love your fabric choices and that upcoming fabric line – gorgeous. I’ll have to start saving.
I think those three collections play nicely! It’s fun to watch another quilter’s color scheme evolution. I am also SO excited for the Leah Duncan line. I thought I read July, but that might be wishful thinking, ha!
Those are beautiful colors to work with. I have come up with the same choices recently too;)
Yes, they work very well together…great minds think alike..not that my mind is great!
I love the colour themes you’ve put together here! I am sure they will make really beautiful quilts. 🙂
Fab fabrics – they’ll look great!
Thanks very much…some of them arrived today and the colours are even better than expected, yay!
Yes I know about not being physically possible to get to bed before midnight. Those look great goals-too much for me though and I think you can justify a bigger stash!
I think your fabric choices are beautiful! I think they will certainly all go together well!

I really like your blue and peach combination. This will be a gorgeous quilt someday!
Thanks very much…I think ‘someday’ is the key word, there may be a looong wait!
Good choices! Can’t wait to see how they come out! Good luck on making all those blocks, I do not see you going to be any earlier:)
I really love your fabric choices and I think they will all go together wonderfully! Let me know how you like the Pillow Pop book. It’s on the my wishlist.
Thanks very much! Will let you know about the book, it looks good so far…. don’t know when I’m going to find time to make anything from it though!
